While the U.S. continues to struggle, we must prepare ourselves for the worst.  As horrible as it sounds, many of us will be losing our primary source of income soon as many more U.S. based business will continue to fold.  In the meantime, start working on plan B and while you have a job, work as many overtime hours allowed.  And most important, start saving for possible upcoming rainy days.  Keep your head up.  It won't be like this forever.  The U.S. will recover.  We always do.
