Professionally Speaking...
After a series of starts and stops working in graphic arts production, I began my career in the nonprofit sector. I have worked in academic, philanthropic, and nonprofit environments for the past 16 years. Over that time, I assumed various positions with increasing levels of responsibility which subsequently led to my becoming an independent consultant two years ago. As a consultant, my primary focus is grant writing and nonprofit program development. I also write and edit reports and have developed a couple of workshop curriculums.

People find that I am intelligent, tactful, discreet, flexible, mature, a very competent writer, editor, and excellent rapporteur. I love to engage in the discovery of new things, new places, and sometimes new people. I also love to do research and have always been intellectually curious. I'm a creative and critical thinker with the ability to see the big picture while simultaneously attending to details. That's all wrapped up in a highly self motivated, personable package, topped off with a pretty good sense of humor.

I earned a Bachelors degree in Art with a minor in Journalism from CSU Long Beach. I'm planning to pursue graduate study (a Masters degree in Art and Cultural Management from Claremont Graduate University) in the near future. I'll save the Master of Fine Arts (MFA) for retirement. At this point in my life my heroes are professional artists. I admire their dedication and perseverance.
